Rejuva Derma Science Benzoyl Peroxide 5% Gel is a topical medication used primarily to treat mild to moderate acne.

• Kills Bacteria: It targets Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria responsible for inflammatory acne.
• Unclogs Pores: It acts as a keratolytic agent, helping to shed dead skin cells and clear blocked follicles.
• Reduces Oil: Some formulations use technology (like Acrylates Copolymer) to absorb excess sebum.
• Prevents Resistance: Unlike some topical antibiotics, bacteria do not develop resistance to benzoyl peroxide.

1. Cleanse: Wash the affected area with a mild cleanser and pat dry.
2. Apply Sparingly: Use a small, pea-sized amount as a spot treatment or apply a thin film over the affected area.
3. Frequency: Start once daily (preferably at night) 2–3 times a week to assess tolerance, gradually increasing to once or twice daily if needed.
4. Moisturise: Follow up with a non-comedogenic moisturiser to prevent excessive dryness.

• Bleaching: It can permanently bleach hair, towels, and clothing. Wash hands thoroughly after use.
• Skin Irritation: Common side effects include dryness, redness, peeling, and a mild stinging or burning sensation.
• Sun Sensitivity: It makes your skin more susceptible to UV damage; always wear sunscreen during the day.
• Sensitive Skin: It is generally not recommended for very sensitive skin or conditions like eczema.
