Junederm Brightening Discoloration Fade Serum

We know what a nuisance hyperpigmentation can be, that’s why we created a serum with multiple hyperpigmentation fighting ingredients to help fade stubborn discoloration. This lightweight gel serum does not only fade the appearance of hyperpigmentation, but also brightens dull skin, smooths and reduces mild redness.

Tyrosinase in our skin helps produce melanin. However, when our skin is irritated either by the sun, injuries or pimples caused by acne, tyrosinase produces excess melanin in order to protect the skin. This unfortunately leads to hyperpigmentation. Most ingredients used to lighten or fade hyperpigmentation are called ‘tyrosinase inhibitors’. This means they help to inhibit or suppress excess production of tyrosinase.

The gold standard ingredient for fading hyperpigmentation is a tyrosinase inhibitor called hydroquinone. However, it has been shown to cause skin sensitisation and exogenous ochronosis (blue/black marks) when used long term, not used correctly or when not used under the supervision of a dermatologist. This is why we formulated our serum with ingredients that are safer and milder than hydroquinone but still as effective.
